Energetic Certification

From December 1, 2013, all properties offered for sale or lease, by individuals or real estate agents, must have an energy certificate.

The energy certificate for properties was already mandatory at the time of sale or rental but, from December 1, 2013, it will also become mandatory as soon as the property is announced, by individuals or real estate agencies, even without knowing whether the business will be realised.

Defaulting individuals are subject to a fine of R$250 to R$3,740. Companies will be able to pay between R$2,500 and R$44,890.
